Outcome of Germ Cell Tumors in Children after Surgical Management; A Longitudinal Study

Aim: To assess the outcome of germ cell tumors in children after surgical management.
 Study Design: A longitudinal study.
 Place and duration: Pediatric surgery oncology department national institute child health Karachi from January 2017 to December 2018.
 Methodology: total 79 between ages 0 12 years were included study. Baseline, ultrasound, CT scan, tumor markers, biopsy for tissue diagnosis done. After excision, they followed up months with ultrasound Scans any recurrence. We just observed patients mature teratoma did surveillance immature variety. The rest subtypes received JEB chemotherapy (carboplatin, etoposide, bleomycin) as per UK-based protocol according their disease stage.
 Results: Most common age presentation was < 1 month old. antenatal made 2 (2.5%) children. Sacrococcygeal region 54 (68.3%) most commonly involved by gonads 17 (21.5%) cases. According histology present 32 (40.5%) Complete resection done 52 (65.8%) Recurrence occurred one 3 expired.
 Conclusion: In current study, general good terms complete excision patients. Worst noted yolk sac tumor. There a minimal recurrence rate.
